November 6, 2015
Here we are already in November and the holiday season is upon us. Join us Friday, November 6th for a long overdue mystery brown bag tasting. It has been quite awhile for one of these. There are 5 wines, all different varietals, but nothing too tricky. It is a great way to see the difference between some of the main grapes such as Cabernet, Syrah, Merlot and a few others. The cost of the tasting is $7 and we start at 5pm.
The other big tastings coming up are:
Friday, November 13th features our yearly Port tasting.
This is a big one and we have decided to feature mostly tawny ports. The flight features 6 decades starting in 1955. It should be a fun comparison so we hope you can make it.
Friday, November 20th is the big Champagne tasting. This is our biggest and best tasting of the year and one you do not want to miss. We feature 10 Champagnes and sparkling wines.
We have some exceptional wines selected mostly featuring more of the small grower champagnes. These wines always over deliver for the price and we have some excellent choices as we approach the holidays.
Friday, December 4th is our winter Small Vineyards Italian tasting with Kristin. Once again, some great selections from our Italizan friend that are available only once each year.
There are a couple new releases of some limited wines just in to the shop. The first is my Fall allotment of Turley Zinfandel 2013 release. These are some of the most sought after Zinfandels from California and are very limited. Second is the current release of the 2013 Caymus Cabernet from Napa. This is consistently one of the top Cabs from Napa. This wine usually is only around for a short time so now is a good time to stock up for the holidays.
